Hi. Simone here. If you have landed on this page, you are probably curious about femdom and maybe a little unsure where to start. That is fine. Curiosity is a good place to begin.
Femdom is a consensual power dynamic where a woman takes the lead and her partner, of any gender, takes the submissive role. I get asked about it a lot, so here is my take.

What femdom actually is
The short version is that she leads and he or she follows. But the word covers a lot of ground. For some people it is playful. She teases, she decides what happens next, and they both enjoy the give and take. For others it is more structured, with rules about who does what and when. Neither version is more real than the other. It all depends on what the people involved want.
I like the plain definition on the femdom glossary page. It sums it up better than I could in a paragraph.
Why people are drawn to it
From the side of the person leading, femdom hands a woman authority that everyday life does not always give her. That can feel good. Not because you want to boss anyone around badly, but because you get to be the one who says what happens. You get to be sure of yourself out loud.
From the other side, giving up control can be a relief. If you are the one who always has to decide, always has to be in charge, handing that over to someone you trust is freeing. You stop thinking about the next move. You just follow.
What it can look like in practice
Honestly, it can look like almost anything two people agree on.
- Teasing and talking, where she keeps him guessing
- Little tasks or service, where he does things for her
- Rules that matter for an evening or a whole relationship
- Rituals, where certain things always happen a certain way
Plenty of couples keep it in the bedroom and go back to normal the next morning. Others live it every day. I have heard from people who do it both ways, and both come out happy when they have talked it through first. The shape of it is not the point. The fit is.
How to talk about it before you start
This part matters more than anything else, so please do not skip it. Sit down somewhere calm and actually say what you want, out loud. Ask your partner what they want. You will both be surprised how much better it goes when nobody is guessing.
Be honest about the things you are sure of and the things you are only curious about. A yes, a no, and a maybe are all fine answers. Write them down if that helps. It sounds unromantic. It is actually the opposite. Trust is what makes the fun possible.

Limits, safewords and aftercare
Agree on limits first. Limits are the things that are off the table, no matter what, and they do not need a reason. Then pick a safeword or a stop signal. It can be a word that would never come up in the moment, a tap, a hand signal, anything that means stop right now. Use it without apologising, and stop without arguing. That goes both ways.
Aftercare is the last step and a lot of people forget it. When the scene ends, come back to each other. Water, a snack, a quiet cuddle, a chat about how it felt. Some people need five minutes, some need an hour. Ask. Then listen.
My own take on it
People take one look at me and assume I am the soft one. Five foot two, quiet, likes plants. Then they talk to me for ten minutes and change their mind. I am not shy, I am quiet, and those are different things. I am also stubborn. Quiet does not mean easy to move.
That is part of why femdom appeals to me. It is the one place where being the one in charge is not something I have to explain or soften. I do not need to raise my voice. I just need you to lean in and listen. If you want to know more about how I think, you can read my spotlight interview, or find me on my profile page.
Start slow. Talk first, agree on limits, pick a safeword and look after each other when it is over.
If you are curious, you can see more of me on my pics page. Take your time with it. I am not going anywhere.
